Distribution and habitat
Type locality is Igarapé Preto in the upper Amazon, and about 60 km downstream from Leticia.
There it was found in a small dark forest stream.
My fish is said to be collected in Rio Jutai, Brazil, in 2009.
However, information of where valuable species like this are collected, is often kept secret.
Sometimes the collectors even provide the fish with false location, so it might as well be collected near the type locality.
My Experience
Just got a few of them.
They seem to thrive well both in blackwater and clearwater, as long as the water is acid and soft ......
